Out of the box mic issues on a40 TR w/mixamp ps4

I just today bought an a40 tr headset with mixamp ps4 edition, but chat audio out (mic) is not working in games. I tried it on my cell earlier, and it works great.

I can't tell if it's muted, and I don't have a computer to update firmware, please help.
